Managing
Partner

Conor Woods

Conor is the Founding and Managing Partner of Woods and Partners. Conor graduated from Dublin City University with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance (Hons) in 1995, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1999. Conor spent a number of years in management roles in KPMG Dublin, before joining the Mergers and Acquisitions team in Kingspan PLC in 2002, where Conor worked on a number of international acquisitions across Europe. Conor established Woods and Partners in 2013. In 2014,the Minister for Justice appointed Conor as the inaugural Chairperson of the Charities Regulatory Authority and in 2015, Conor was invited to sit on strategy board of Chartered Accountants Ireland by the President of Chartered Accoutants Ireland. Conor has also served as Chairperson of the Chartered Accountants Ireland Charity and NFP Group. In 2012, Conor completed the Diploma in IFRS with distinction and is a registered auditor in Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales.

In his spare time, Conor enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, he plays golf in Headfort GC, Kells, Co Meath and coaches the Meath LGFA U14’s and underage teams in his local GAA Club, Carnaross.

Eugene O'Callaghan

Eugene is Tax Partner and head of all taxation services at Woods and Partners. A Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and a Chartered Tax Consultant, Eugene is former head of Republic of Ireland Tax for a Top 15 Firm.

Eugene has extensive tax expertise, advising on all aspects of Tax Compliance and Tax Consulting – namely CT, CAT, CGT, VAT Stamp Duty and Personal Tax. Eugene lectures extensively with the Meath and Cavan Bar Association, and writes articles on a regular basis for various Taxation Journals.

Eugene is actively involved in Cavan Rugby Club and Swimming Club and is married with 3 children.

Audit and Business Advisory Partner

Tomás Plunkett

Tomas joined Woods and Partners full time in 2015 after previously completing our summer internship programme. He qualified as an ACA after completing his final exams in 2018. Prior to joining Woods and Partners, Tomás graduated from Dublin City University (DCU) with a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance.

Tomás has amassed significant experience working with both large international and local clients and has acquired a strong knowledge across the areas of Fintech, Aviation, Agriculture and Agri-Business, Construction and Owner-managed Businesses. He works on various projects across Statutory Audit, SME Consultancy, and Corporate finance and has a simple modus operandi – to act as a trusted business adviser, always adding value to your business.

Tomás is an active member of Carnaross GFC serving on both the Executive and Finance Committees, whilst also a player on the first team. He has a passion for Irish language and culture and also a keen interest in horse racing, just don’t ask him for tips.

Gerard O'Rorke

Gerard O’Rorke completed a B.Comm in UCD. Following qualification, he trained as a Chartered Accountant in Oliver Freaney & Company in Dublin (now Smith & Williamson).

He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1983 and worked in practice in Dublin until June 1989.

In 1989 he set up the practice of Gerard O’Rorke & Company Chartered Accountants in Kells, Co Meath. The practice grew over the years providing audit, accounting and tax services to a broad range of small to medium clients within a forty mile radius of Kells.

The practice continued until August 2024 when he and his team merged with Woods & Partners.

Gerard O’Rorke is a partner in Woods and Partners and continues to provide services and advice to all clients.

Gerard O’Rorke lives locally and was and is involved in a number of local organisations including charities and sports clubs.

Ann Cannon

Ann is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) and holds both industry and practice expertise. Ann graduated from UCD with BA Economics & Geography (Hons) and completed a Masters Post Graduate in Business Studies from the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business in UCD. She then completed her Chartered Accountancy training at KPMG. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in KPMG, Ann joined the Corporate Finance Team in Grant Thornton as a Manager.

Ann now specialises in the international construction sector and M&A Advisory.

Ann Rahill

Ann is an accomplished Accountant with over 35 years of experience, having spent her career as Managing Partner in her own firm before taking up the role of Business Advisory Director at Woods & Partners. She has a wealth of experience in accounting, audit and taxation collaborating with companies across all sectors.

Ann’s expertise lies in developing strong, lasting relationships with clients, and she is dedicated to delivering efficient, high-quality services tailored to each client's unique needs. With an initiative-taking approach, she offers practical, commercial advice and cost-effective strategic business solutions that add significant value.

Ann is deeply committed to understanding her clients' requirements and staying attuned to the ever-changing economic and technical landscape of business. This client-focused philosophy ensures that she provides relevant solutions that foster client satisfaction. Whether addressing immediate concerns or planning for future growth, Ann's insights and expertise empower clients to navigate their business challenges with confidence.

Ann is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Cormac Gilsenan

Cormac works in our Cavan office as Audit and Business Advisory Senior Manager. Cormac joined Woods and Partners in 2016.

Cormac is a member of Chartered Accountants Ireland (CAI) and holds a BA (Hons) in Commerce from National University of Ireland Galway. Cormac assists in managing a diverse portfolio of audit clients from MedTech to large indigenous companies to SMEs and owner-man-aged businesses and provides them with varied technical and practical business support.

By gaining an in-depth understanding of his clients’ businesses, Cormac works alongside them to help them grow, meet their targets and stimulate them to think beyond the day to day operations of their businesses. His portfolio includes a broad range of business sectors including Media, Aviation Finance and Leasing and Manufacturing.

Outside of working hours, Cormac enjoys playing with his local hurling club Kilskyre, and has represented Meath in Leinster and All-Ireland Championships for Handball. Cormac also has a keen interest in the family farm.

Mark Daly

Mark joined Woods & Partners in 2026 and currently serves as Audit and Business Advisory Senior Manager. Mark graduated from Dublin City University (DCU) with a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance in 2018, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2022. Mark spent a number of years in management roles in KPMG Dublin before joining Woods & Partners.

Mark manages various engagements including Statutory Audit for a diverse portfolio of clients, SME Consultancy, and Corporate Finance. Mark provides his clients with Big 4 expertise with the personal touch of a boutique firm.

In his spare time, Mark somehow enjoys running Marathons. Mark is also a member of his local GAA club, St Peters Dunboyne.

Jolene Lynch

Jolene has worked with Gerard O’Rorke & Company for over 20 years and joined Woods and Partners in 2024 following the merger with Gerard O’Rorke & Company.

Having studied and trained with ATI, Jolene has developed her skills over the last 20 years in practice, in areas such as personal tax, VAT, payroll and accounting.

Jolene's commitment to her clients extends beyond just accounting and tax services and she takes a personalised approach to problem-solving, building strong relationships and offering practical, actionable insights tailored to each client's unique needs.

Outside of her professional life, Jolene is a devoted mother to two young boys, balancing the demands of her career with family life.

Kathleen Smith

Kathleen Smith joined Woods and Partners in September 2024, following the merger with Gerard O’Rorke and Company.

Kathleen is a member of Certified Public Accounts Ireland (CPA).
With more than 24 years of experience working in the accounting field with Gerard O’Rorke and Company, Kathleen brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role as Accounts Manager.

Kathleen is dedicated to maintaining high client standards and plays a vital role in ensuring that clients receive timely and accurate financial guidance. Her experience and strong relationships with local businesses further enrich the firm’s reputation and commitment to excellence.
