Client Cases
- Completing Audit and Audit Exempt cases for Partner/Manager Review.
- Preparation of Financial Statements.
- Preparing Audit Exempt and Audit Files for Partner/Manager Review.
- Reconciling control accounts, VAT, Debtors, Creditors, and Sales.
- Liaising with clients to resolve account-related queries.
- Attending closing meetings.
- Utilizing firm resources to ensure client satisfaction at the highest levels.
- Anticipating and addressing client concerns regarding services.
- Performing a final sweep of all audit files.
- Managing risk on files.
Staff Management
- Assisting trainees with file creation and delivery.
- Leading and developing a small team of trainees.
- Enhancing the technical knowledge of trainees.
- Reviewing work completed by junior staff.
Technical Development
- Participating in in-house CPD courses.
- Upskilling in Audit and Accounting technical areas.
- Managing Monthly WIP.
- Reviewing WIP on a quarterly basis.

- Achieving a target of €50k in new business within Year 1.

- Ensuring staff satisfaction and addressing concerns.
- Focusing on retaining key team members in the audit department.
- Supporting the development and growth of senior team members.
Fees
- Managing billing for the portfolio.
- Assisting in achieving fee targets.
- Reviewing fees for Tax and Bureau services with monthly updates from the tax team.
Audit CPD
- Maintaining high levels of technical audit development within the team.
- Ensuring attendance at periodic CPD events.

Key Responsibilities
Technical
- Preparing complex individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns.
- Reviewing individual tax returns prepared by tax staff or interns.
- Acting as a technical resource for tax staff and interns.
- Working on estate, gift, trust, and international tax returns as opportunities arise.
- Conducting basic and complex tax research.
- Collaborating with colleagues to perform tax planning for individual, corporate, partnership, estate, gift, trust, and international tax clients.
- Reviewing federal, state, and local tax notices and drafting responses.
- Authoring and collaborating on articles, blogs, and e-books.
Supervisory
- Delegating work to tax staff and interns.
- Supervising tax staff and interns while defining expectations and performance indicators.
- Participating in firm-wide and tax department administrative projects.
- Acting as the key client contact for smaller engagements.
- Fostering collaborative working relationships across all employment levels of the firm.
- Assisting with training of tax department and accounting personnel.
- Representing the firm at intern recruiting fairs.
- Developing a network of industry peers and business contacts, meeting prospective clients, and cultivating referral business.
Requirements
- Full tax qualification or currently preparing for final exams.
- Minimum of two years’ relevant experience in a busy tax department.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Up-to-date knowledge of Irish tax legislation and compliance obligations.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of the SME sector is particularly desirable.
