Key Responsibilities

Technical

  • Completing audit and audit exempt cases for manager/partner review.
  • Preparation of financial statements.
  • Reconciling key balance sheet items such as fixed assets, debtors, creditors, control accounts, VAT, and PAYE.
  • Anticipating and addressing client concerns regarding services.

Supervisory

  • Leading and developing a small team of trainees.
  • Assisting trainees with file creation and delivery.
  • Enhancing the technical knowledge of trainees.
  • Reviewing work completed by junior staff.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Client Service

  • Directing and managing the delivery of exemplary client service on all engagements.
  • Managing a varied and interesting portfolio of audit and audit exempt client cases.
  • Collaborating across all levels and departments of the firm to maintain the highest client satisfaction levels.
  • Anticipating and addressing client issues and concerns.

Risk Management

  • Audit file review.
  • Managing of risk on all files.
  • Preparing files for partner review.

Talent Management

  • Managing a team of trainee accountants.
  • Responsibility for team development and cohesion.
  • Manage technical training within the audit team.
  • Review and approve timesheets, time inputs of staff.
  • Review of WIP on a monthly basis.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years post qualification experience in an audit department.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of auditing standards and financial reporting standards.
  • Awareness of risk and risk management in an audit function.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the SME sector is particularly desirable.
